Zodiac FanFic: New Moon in Cancer
Bethany Tabor
This New Moon in Cancer is meant for soaking in a tub, in the woods, in the pitch black darkness (July 9). This lunar cycle on the Cancer/Capricorn axis has been a deluge, but at least the Moon is in her domicile, united with the Sun, ready and waiting to nurture us through the tension.
The Mars and Saturn opposition has come and gone (July 1) and it was simultaneously dramatic and mundane. Mars was riled up with pent up aggression in Leo, but calm, cool, and annoyed Saturn in Aquarius was not giving in to the drama. It’s a give and take, a push and pull, and it’s important to discern whether the struggle is real or imagined. This bitter transit will ease up when Venus comes to Mars’ side to dress his (self-inflicted) wounds (July 12), but not before Saturn treats her with the same bait-and-switch (July 7). Disciplinary Saturn is a real drag, but between Mars’ determination and Venus’ graciousness, we’ll come out of the tense oppositions more fully matured and better off for it.
Things get testy when Venus and Uranus in Taurus square off (July 9). We might feel shaken, or have a sudden urge to remodel, or even go on a spontaneous road trip. Whatever killjoy attitudes Saturn brought to the party Mars and Venus were trying to throw we will need to incorporate. Fortunately, Mercury’s ingress in Cancer (July 11) helps us to process and express our feelings about it all.
After all the white elephants in the room have been addressed and everyone’s had a chance to take a moment for themselves, the Sun and Neptune will nod to each other from across the sky in a psychedelic trine (July 16). Reflecting on all that’s happened, this aspect might just reveal new truths to us that were too difficult to fully comprehend before. Keep a dream journal close.
